Read the extended bio
Neylan is a dynamic leader who transforms bold ideas into movements, blending corporate strategy with a deep commitment to cause-driven campaigns that inspire change, mobilize communities, and reshape culture.
Neylan is a veteran of corporate America, with experience in digital marketing and brand strategy at the largest of companies (Walmart.com) and some of the smallest. McBaine started her career in Silicon Valley during the first dot com boom, taking in the energy and optimism of that time while also witnessing the over extension and downfall of her first employers. In addition to her experience in-house, McBaine spent five years at a digital advertising agency, building campaigns for cause-oriented clients such as the Huntsman Cancer Institute and the United Nations Foundation. She's continued that dedication to cause-oriented work at Brain Chase (an educational technology company), Duet Partner/ChessMatePro (a business management platform for music teachers and chess instructors), and Project Liberty, where she led interfaith and policy partnership building to work towards a healthier and safer future for the internet.
Neylan's most notable work in cause-oriented campaigns was founding and leading Better Days 2020. In 2016, McBaine co-founded and led Better Days 2020, a state-sponsored educational non-profit dedicated to popularizing Utah women's history in preparation for 2020: the year marked the 150th anniversary of Utahns being the first American women to vote under an equal suffrage law, and the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. Through education, legislation, public art and events, Better Days 2020 raised a multi-million dollar budget to change the perceptions and awareness of Utah women throughout the state and the nation.
McBaine has served on academic and ecclesiastical interfaith panels from coast to coast. She is the author of two books, a TEDx presenter and winner of multiple community building awards. In 2020, she was named Woman of the Year by the YWCA of Utah for her work in women's advocacy. A graduate of Yale University and a New York City native, Neylan has three daughters.
