Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to already be in a leadership role to apply?
Nope. This is specifically for women who have never held a leadership position before or are brand new to their first manager role.
What if my employer won’t sponsor the cost?
Reach out to us. We may be able to work with your employer or work out other payment options.
How much time should I expect to spend outside of monthly sessions?
This class will have one homework assignment due each month. Homework is experiential and usually requires you to apply what you’ve learned over a day or sprinkled throughout the month and then report back via an online learning portal.
Is this program only for certain industries?
No, the curriculum is structured around general leadership principles and can be applied to any industry.
What happens after I register — how does the cohort get selected?
We accept registrations until the cohort is full. Sego Rising is built to meet you at the start of your leadership journey, so there’s no competitive application process to clear, just a seat to claim.
I’ve never had a mentor or sponsor at work. Will that put me behind in this program?
No. Many women arrive without one. This is why the cohort matters; you’ll build support here.
What if I’m not sure I even want to manage people?
At Sego Leadership, we believe that leadership skills are applicable beyond the office. Even if you decide you don’t want to manage a team, you’ll learn more about yourself and grow your network during the program.
I’m the youngest person on my team. Will I be the youngest one in the room?
Maybe—our cohorts span ages 22 to 62+. Most women say the age range is one of the best parts.
What if I can’t attend an in-person class?
We stream every class, but we strongly encourage you to attend in person. Aside from the information, the real value is in your cohort and meeting women who understand where you’ve been and what you’re trying to do.
