Mindy Benson was appointed as the 17th President of Southern Utah University in July 2022.
President Benson has advanced through a variety of positions during her career at SUU including director of Student Life and Vice President for Alumni & Community Relations.
In addition to her work at SUU, Benson is a professional event consultant with experience producing hundreds of high-level productions, concerts, and special events across the country. She loves teaching event management courses to many SUU business and communication students.
Mindy is a Cedar City native, with ties to southern Utah and SUU that go back generations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in zoology and a master’s degree in professional communication from SUU.
